AOC Haut-Médoc Red

Four generations preceded Alain Roses, who farms 12 hectares of superbly exposed vines on the gravely knolls, or croupes, of the Haut-Médoc appellation in the village of Lamarque. TASTING NOTES

Intense garnet red, nearly black. Expressive, toasty nose with notes of jammy red fruit and mildly spicy, with tell-tale stalkiness revealing the Cabernet. The palate is powerful yet harmoniously balanced and rounded, with plump tannins wrapped in creamy extract leading to a finish typical of Médoc wines. A generous, chewy wine which will go well with grilled or roasted meats, breast of duck, white meats or cheese.

    AGEING

An elegant wine from this prestigious terroir which is well worth drinking from 2013, but can be cellared for several years.

    VINTAGE 2014

    TASTING NOTES

With its beguilingly sombre hue, this 2014 is worthy of its prestigious appellation both in its aromatic expression of ripened fruit – cherry, cassis and blackberry – with the hint of spice peculiar to the Cabernet Sauvignon, and in its structure with its beautifully extracted tannins. This richness is confirmed on the ample palate with its creamy, silky tannins and fine length. Although still young, the finish is confirmation that this bottle is well worth cellaring.

    AGEING

An elegant wine from this prestigious terroir which is well worth drinking from 2016, but can be cellared for several years.
