AOC Blaye - Côtes de Bordeaux Red

Château Calet was taken over a few years ago by the Bayle-Carreau family, who replanted the entire vineyard. The owners have poured all their know-how and passion into making Château Calet one of the rising stars of the AOC Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux. The vines yield a supple, fine wine characterised by the Merlot – which makes up 90% – as expressed in its roundness and fruity elegance.

    TASTING NOTES

The result of a legendary vintage and made almost entirely from Merlot grapes, this is a profound, red-hued wine. The nose unveils generous aromas of overripe blackcurrant, stewed red fruit and prune with earthy, toasty notes. The ripened grapes impart a creamy, dense and silky texture to an elegantly extracted palate. Dense, delicately oaked tannins provide structure and length.

    TASTING NOTES

The result of a legendary vintage, this wine has a splendid Bordeaux colour, with purple tints. It opens with an elegant and expressive bouquet still dominated by fresh fruits, aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and plums. On the palate, one can find with pleasure an unctuous, structure balanced by fine and lingering tannins without any harshness. A wine for pleasure.
