The Carmes Haut-Brion estate dates back to the sixteenth century and has remained largely unchanged since its inception.
Separated from Château Haut-Brion by just a few blocks of houses, it is a haven of greenery a gem unique in the city of Bordeaux. The vineyard extends across the plateau of Haut-Brion. Small in size (six hectares) but great in terms of its outstanding terroir, it is entirely enclosed by an ancient stone wall which protects it from the city. Planted mainly with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, Carmes Haut-Brion produces a fine, elegant red wine. Its richness of aroma and balanced complexity make this an increasingly sought-after wine.
