AOC Sainte-Croix-du-Mont Sweet Wine

The residual sugar level makes this wine a real sweet wine. It is therefore superior to a simple moelleux wine. This is particularly true as here the sugar is perceptible only through perfectly well mastered botrytis which gives to the wine a beautiful complexity, enhanced by an acidity preserving all the freshness necessary for the best sweet wines.

    TASTING NOTES

A beautifully brilliant, golden hue. The nose opens up to reveal a generous bouquet of bitter orange and candied fruit with a hint of mango, while on the palate a fine balance is struck between sweetness and acidity. This wine offers all the complexity typical of great dessert wines, with creamy extract offset by fine freshness. It will be even more delicious after a few years' bottle-ageing. Drink very chilled.

    TASTING NOTES

Golden-coloured wine highlighted with amber tints. The expressive bouquet harbours all the notes typical of the best sweet wines – candied fruits, hints of tropical flavours, citrus fruits and honey from white blossom. After the already seductive nose, the palate displays remarkable balance between richness and freshness, the back-of-palate lingering with notes of candied orange and beeswax. Served chilled, this a wine which pairs perfectly with a large choice of dishes and the traditional foie gras, but also makes a delicious aperitif.
