Château Espérance (de l')

AOC Bordeaux Supérieur Red

This magnificent estate of just under 3.5 hectares, bought by Claude Billot in 1985, is located in the village of Pujols at the top of the limestone slopes overlooking the Dordogne Valley opposite Castillon la Bataille. Thanks to his love of the vineyard and work well done, he has made Château L’Espérance one of the flagship estates of the appellation. Every effort is made to allow the richness of this exceptional terroir to be expressed.

    VINTAGE 2010

    TASTING NOTES

The result of a legendary vintage for Bordeaux, this wine is an intense crimson hue with just a hint of orange at the rim. Grape, then spicy and earthy notes are revealed successively in its many-layered bouquet. The palate exudes succulently spicy notes. It swells to a beautifully mature finish accompanied by silky tannins, rounding off an elegant whole. Serve at 17°-19°C with an informal meal, with rib of beef or a well-garnished cheese board.

    AGEING

    To drink from 2016.
