Château Genlaire

AOC Bordeaux Supérieur Red

Family property since 1890. It is currently operated by the 6th generation, Christophe MOTHES and his mother Sylvie, since 1998. Château Genlaire, a manor house typical of the Bordeaux landscape, stands in the middle of a few hectares of rather unique vines for the region. . The fortified church of Saint Hilaire, adorned with very beautiful capitals, has protected this vineyard for several decades. The enthusiasm and know-how of the different generations have made it possible to renew and modernize this exploitation, to today reach a vineyard of about thirty hectares producing quality wines.

    TASTING NOTES

Brilliant garnet, this wine has a pleasant nose whose freshness is due to a dominant fruitiness (bigarreau, blackcurrant). On swirling, the budding bouquet gains in complexity. On the palate, a crunchy, fruity attack with a nice balance. On the finish, the wine expresses itself fully with fruit relayed by spices. A very crunchy style. Served at room temperature, between 17-19°C, as an accompaniment to red or white, grilled or roasted meats, but will also go well with charcuterie, a Lorraine quiche or fine and moderately seasoned cheeses.

    AGEING

To be enjoyed from 2021, but can wait a few years.
