Having been in the Massonie family for three generations, Perron is now the responsibility of Bertrand Massonie, whose drive, passion, technical skill and respect for the property's exceptional terroir have contributed massively to its recent renaissance. One of the top wines in the appellation and a rising star of the Right Bank.

    VINTAGE 2008

    TASTING NOTES

    Beautiful deep ruby red with tints at rim showing no signs of ageing as yet. Rich, powerful and many-layered nose of red fruits, dark spice, fresh oak and cocoa. Supple, velvety palate with fine, crisply elegant tannins. Fresh lingering finish with menthol flavours. A charming, easy-to-drink wine which will go down well with any fine food.

    TASTING NOTES

    Presents beautifully. Profound garnet red with deep purple tints at rim and a rich, smooth nose, many-layered with notes of black berried fruits and subtle oak, spice and menthol. Round, chewy palate, warming and mouthfillingly plump with dense, elegant tannins. Long, velvety finish. An excellent wine for laying down. Tasted the 13/02/2012 by Jean Philippe FORT Cabinet Rolland, Société JEan Chevrier.

    TASTING NOTES

    The result of a legendary vintage, this wine is a deep, brilliant ruby red and wonderfully concentrated, with garnet tints. The generous nose offers elegant notes of overripe Merlot, with a floral touch (violets), a hint of ink and well-bred oak, and slight vanilla flavours resulting from ageing in barrels of excellent quality.

    TASTING NOTES

    Presents beautifully. Profound garnet-red, slightly amber at rim. Attractive nose of red berries, sour cherry, spices and menthol with some oak and liquorice notes. The palate reveals a subtle, delicate wine and a velvety texture with beautifully ripe, plump tannins. Fresh, spicy finish. A very fine, easy-to-drink with good cellaring potential.

    TASTING NOTES

    Elegant, intense hue of deep garnet, the powerful and complex bouquet offering up an array of aromas from red-berried fruit, damp earth and a touch of mocha to toasty notes - the fruit of excellent wine craftsmanship. The palate is rich, balanced and has a texture of the finest class, wrapped in extract as creamy as it is silky and perfectly smooth. This is without a doubt one of the best wines of the 2012 vintage in this prestigious appellation.

    TASTING NOTES

    A sustained deep red, nearly black, in hue with a generous bouquet in which the fruit – blackberry and blackcurrant – still predominates, but with complex layers of spice and a hint of toast. The warm, spicy and well-integrated palate offers generous, creamy extract, underpinned by smooth tannins – a sign of careful craftsmanship. A very fine wine, the product of an outstanding terroir.

    TASTING NOTES

    Château Perron 2015 is a beautiful garnet-red hue with deep purple tints. The nose delivers a powerful, rich bouquet covering a broad aromatic array of red fruit, cinnamon, café and liquorice; a Lalande of fine complexity. The palate offers an impression of harmony, roundness and suppleness over a velvety tannin base. A subtle wine, full of finesse. The result of an excellent vintage, it will gain even greater complexity after a few years' ageing in the bottle – for your delectation and delight.
