Château Puybarbe AOC Côtes de Bourg Red - Technical sheet

Château Puybarbe

AOC Côtes de Bourg Red

Château Puybarbe, a family estate owned by the Orlandi family since 1952, is perched on one of the highest hills of the village of Mombrier at the heart of the Côtes de Bourg appellation. Initially covering seven hectares, the vineyard has gradually grown in parallel with the family's efforts to plant the right grape varieties for the soil. A new chapter in the Château Puybarbe story began in 2000 when a new vatting room was built to enable the wines to be vinified and matured at the Château itself. The wines they yield are warm, complex and well structured, with tannins of great finesse.

    VINTAGE 2014

A sumptuous deep burgundy hue with ruby tints. The bouquet is an elegant mix of overripe black-berried fruits, cherry notes and hints of spice. The chewy, mouthfilling palate is rounded and well-structured thanks to taut but perfectly smooth tannins wrapped in silky extract, imparting excellent balance. Born of a great vintage, this wine is a fine achievement.

To drink from 2016. Worth cellaring for two years before drinking.
