AOC Sauternes Sweet White

Making Sauternes is not so much winemaking, as an act of faith. These exceptional wines are the result of a very special partnership between nature and man. This wine is a stunning example: fresh, rich and balanced with great finesse.

    TASTING NOTES

Excellently situated on the banks of the Ciron in gravely soil, this growth is regularly singled out for the finesse and elegance of its fine dessert wines. Here, the Sémillon and Sauvignon join forces harmoniously to offer a highly expressive bouquet of citrus notes combined with jammy fruit and a hint of honey. Over an ample, richly extracted base, the palate offers a complex, lingering spectrum of aromas with notes of jammy orange and dried fig. Drink very chilled, with a seasonal fruit salad, for example, or a blue cheese.

    AGEING

Will be at its peak after more then 10 years' ageing in the bottle, when it will be delicious served very chilled as an aperitif or with as part of a festive, gourmet meal.

    TASTING NOTES

A scintillating and brilliant light golden colour with a generous, jammy bouquet – bitter orange with a hint of tropical fruits (pineapple and mango). The palate is just as beguiling, its mouthfilling lushness underpinned by fine vivacity that lends great harmony to the whole. Superb jammy fruit notes provide a perfect finish. A very fine Sauternes, to enjoyed well chilled. Will make a delicious accompaniment for foie gras, melon, any white meat, desserts, walnuts, dried fruit or Roquefort cheese.

    AGEING

Served well chilled as an aperitif, or with a gourmet meal for some special occasion, this 2010 vintage will be at its peak after more than 10 years’ ageing in the bottle.
