La Réserve d'Angludet

AOC Margaux Red

La Réserve d’Angludet is the new name that we have given to the second wine from Château Angludet. While it is true that the vines are young, the stock available today is of much better quality than previously. This makes for more “efficient” vine plants which are able to yield fruit more rapidly. This is why today more than ever, La Réserve d’Angludet offers the best quality for price in the entire Margaux appellation, offering dazzling aromatic expression and gentle extract, which is sustained yet delicate.

    TASTING NOTES

The result of a legendary year, this wine is the expression of its exceptional terroir – elegant and charming! Deeply coloured, still deep purple at rim, with a richly layered bouquet that marries jammy fruit – blackcurrant and blackberry –with the toasty, vanilla notes of the barrel. The dense, warming palate is refined throughout, with an elegant tannic structure resulting from its distinguished terroir, as well as from a perfectly controlled winemaking process.

    TASTING NOTES

This cuvee stands out thanks to the richness and elegance usually found in first-label Margaux. A sombre garnet hue with deep purple tints, it delivers a rich bouquet of black berried fruits enveloped with earthy notes and the minerality typical of this growth. The same harmony is echoed on the succulent palate, which is structured by fine, characteristic tannins and enlivened by a fresh, spicy finish.

    TASTING NOTES

Réserve d’Angludet 2014 is a fine example of the vintage. The balance of the three grape varieties and the delicate hint of oak from its ageing in the barrel combine perfectly to make this a very accessible wine despite its youth. The red fruit aromas mixed with slightly earthy notes envelop the wine like a velvet glove. A typical, elegant Margaux, it still displays a somewhat tannic structure – a guarantee of excellent cellaring potential.

    TASTING NOTES

Beautiful, intense red with garnet tints. An expressive nose with distinctive, profound black-berry aromas and spicy notes typical of the estate’s Petit Verdot. Combined with these are toasty, subtly oaky notes that gradually emerge on swirling. Creamy roundness is the predominating impression on the palate, with tannins and silky, delicate fruit that aptly reflect the quality of this terroir. The finish is long-lasting and intensely aromatic. A harmonious and elegant balance that reflects an exceptional vintage.
