Saint Emilion Sichel
AOC Saint-Emilion Red
This wine shows just how generous Merlot can be when grown in the ideal terroir. Crimson in colour, with a rich and powerful bouquet of black fruit verging on the empyreumatic and inky. The supple, generous palate displays crisp, juicy extract over an elegant tannin base. A Saint Emilion which was successfully harvested before excessive overripeness set in.
A lush wine to drink from 2013 to enjoy its youthful flavours, or 4-5 years after that date, for those who are able to wait, to savour its greater complexity.
Produced on one of France’s most prestigious terroirs, this wine is a beautiful deep ruby colour. The bewitchingly complex bouquet is a mixture of red and black-berried fruit (cherry, blackcurrant) and mild spices, highlighted by a touch of minerality. Following a firm, velvety attack, the palate is ample, round and smooth with a structure of elegant, plump tannins guaranteeing good ageing potential. Overall, a harmonious wine that combines power and elegance and bears the hallmark of its noble origins.
