Sirius AOC Bordeaux Red - Technical sheet

AOC Bordeaux Red

The grapes are carefully selected before being fermented and aged in oak in exactly the same way as the Grands Crus Classés of Graves and Pessac-Léognan. Sirius Red is situated at the high end of the Bordeaux category and the emphasis is on balance, finesse and the mutually complementary aromas of the three Bordeaux grape varieties, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A discreet, pared-down label for a modern chic, wine, equally ideal for trendy bistros or gourmet restaurants. Also exists in White and Rosé.

    VINTAGE 2012

Sirius 2012 is a brooding, almost black colour with ruby tints. The bouquet is expressive and intense, redolent of ripe blackcurrant and redcurrant and mild spice, with an elegant touch of vanilla and toast. Elegant tannins wrapped in creamy, fruity extract on the attack develop succulent freshness on a palate which is both balanced and mouthfillingly aromatic – this is a wine with huge personality. Crisp-textured, lingering finish.

    VINTAGE 2015

The fruit of one of the best-ever Bordeaux vintages, Sirius 2015 is a superb garnet hue with a deep purple fringe. The bouquet is richly elegant, combining all the aromatic freshness of a grape harvested at peak maturity with the subtle oak denoting carefully controlled barrel-ageing alongside toasted notes and jammy fruit. But it is on the palate that the greatness of this legendary vintage really shows. Ample-bodied and succulent, it offers outstanding balance with elegant tannins, abundant, delicious fruit and creamily smooth extract.
