Trillol Fruité

AOC Corbières Red

At 400 metres above sea level, overlooked by the brooding Cathar castles of Quéribus and Peyrepertuse, the family-owned property of Château Trillol produces a wine that typifies the authenticity and character of the Hautes Corbières - a wild, isolated region, where vines and the wild herbs of the garrigue grow side by side . Here, the cool climate slows down the ripening process, allowing the grapes to acquire depth of flavour and complexity.

    TASTING NOTES

A blend of Syrah and Grenache harvested in the majestuous geological circus of the valley of Cucugnan at an altitude of 400 metres (1,312ft). A dark shade of garnet with deep purple tints showing Mediterranean herbs and spices on a generous nose, harmoniously mingled with notes of red fruit, blackberry and Morello cherries. The palate is silky and supple with balanced tannins and plenty of freshness. Fine aromatic length with all the typical flavours of this corner of the Upper Corbières. Without any doubt, a pleasurable, easy-to-drink wine.

    TASTING NOTES

This wine’s dense, brooding red colour with deep purple tints goes perfectly with its spicy, peppery nose. On the palate, the frank, fresh attack combined with a hint of acidity imparts great vivacity and makes this a beautifully harmonious wine.

    AGEING

Ready for drinking from 2013 but can be laid down for a few years.
