Château Vieille Tour La Rose
AOC Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Red
Crafted with passion by Daniel Ybert in this vineyard of Merlot Noir, this wine presents the richness, elegance and classicism typical of Saint Emilion. The nose is a mixture of ripe fruit with toasty notes, vanilla and a hint of leather. The chewy attack supplied the Merlot is offset by fine vivacity which imparts freshness and a creamy texture. The persistent finish is borne along by taut tannins wrapped in generous extract. Very well-balanced wine, best drunk after a few years' cellaring.
Drinking nicely from 2021 but has fine ageing potential of 5-6 years.
This 2019 is a beautiful sombre hue with purple tints. The vibrant nose offers up warming aromas of dark fruit, spices and toasty notes. The same fruit and mild spice is present on the generous, powerful palate, where the Merlot provides plenty of roundness. From colour to finish, this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru excites the senses. Succulent and flavoursome, it is a faithful representative of its terroir and will be ready for drinking from 2021.
