Château Cluzan

AOC Bordeaux Red

Impeccably kept, medium-sized family property. The vineyard and the cellar are managed with rigour and passion by Ms and M. Evesque, who produces a deeply coloured, intensely fruity wine, with pure varietal aromas and excellent structure. Château Cluzan is bottled early with no oak ageing to preserve the maximum amount of freshness.

    TASTING NOTES

A sombre red, with brick tints at rim. The nose is expressive of black fruit – blackberry – cloves and truffle. Generous, opulent palate. The great maturity of the grapes is clearly perceptible in this voluptuously rounded, generous wine.

    AGEING

It will be at its best between 2015 and 2021.

    TASTING NOTES

A splendid ruby hue, with deep purple tints indicating youth. The first impression is of an elegant, expressive bouquet of predominantly fresh fruit aromas – cherry and blackcurrant. The palate has great freshness, offset by fine and smooth, lingering tannins. An easy-to-drink wine with all the typical characteristics of Bordeaux’ great wines – finesse and elegance that will help it age nicely over the next three to four years.

    AGEING

    To drink from 2018.

    TASTING NOTES

Clad in a deep ruby red this wine delivers a generous bouquet of dark fruit – blackcurrant – with a touch of spice. The attack is smooth and creamy, the palate taut but not rough, and well-balanced thanks to fine freshness. All the typical expression of Merlot and Cabernet from a choice terroir for great Bordeaux wines.

    AGEING

    To drink from 2019.
