AOC Lussac Saint-Emilion Red
A deeply coloured wine showing the first mature tints - an encouraging sign for the subsequent tasting. The nose is expressive, displaying toasty notes at first, after which the aromas evolve to menthol to finish on notes of chocolate and prune. The round front-of-palate is a reminder that Merlot makes up the majority of this blend. The nose is still present, accompanying round and fleshy, even slightly creamy extract.
A great bottle which will drink well from 2010 and has excellent ageing potential of several years.
A brilliant red hue, this wine is a delicious marriage of spices, red berries and a touch of toast, hinting at quality ageing in oak. The palate is supple on attack, going on to reveal an elegant structure with plump tannins and smooth extract.
Three to five years of patient waiting will be required to enjoy this wine at its best, over a meal with friends.
