Château Les Tonnelles AOC Bordeaux Red - Technical sheet
Château Les Tonnelles
AOC Bordeaux Red
Five generations succeeded one another in building up and expanding the vineyard. Owned by the Maurin family, the estate is still a family business involving three generations even today. You have to go back to before 1890 to trace the first vines bought by the family, after which the estate grew thanks to a series of acquisitions, producing just white wines at first; the first red vines appeared only in 1960. The current company structure was created in 1990, encompassing the 54 ha of the family estate and the 22 ha of a second estate from the maternal side of the family. Today, the estate has 85 hectares of vines. The winery has been entirely renovated with state-of-the-art facilities which enable the winemaking process to be fully controlled.
A beautiful crimson in shade, this Château les Tonnelles is deliciously redolent of red-berried fruits accompanied by more floral notes and with a pleasing, generous palate. A succulent wine with rounded, velvety tannins. A very fine red Bordeaux.
The result of a legendary vintage, this deeply coloured wine unfolds a delicate, many-layered bouquet of red fruit and spices over a backcloth of elegance. The equally fruity palate is supple and rounded, with well-integrated tannins and a lingering finish. A very fine example of a red Bordeaux.
An excellent wine to drink with red meats but will easily accompany a whole meal, from the hors d’oeuvre to the cheese.
