Château Fleur de Lisse
AOC Saint Emilion Red
Château de Lisse was one of the largest vineyards in Saint Étienne de Lisse in the early twentieth century. It is one of the oldest vineyards in Saint Émilion, which explains why the average age of the vines is 45 years. From 1940 to 2015 it belonged to the Minvielle family, who over the years made it prosper and modernised the winemaking business by building a vatting cellar. In 2015, the château was acquired by the Teycheney family, who already owned Château La Loubière and, being passionately interested in farming and wine, decided to farm using biodynamic methods.
The result of a legendary vintage and crafted under the aegis of Jean Claude Berrouet (consultant winemaker for Petrus), this wine is a sustained ruby hue with deep purple tints. Its bouquet is perfectly pure and expressive, displaying notes of red berries, cassis and blackberry, and is followed by an ample, smooth and remarkably balanced palate. The finish is refined, the back-of-palate discreetly toasty and smoky. It is the ideal accompaniment for grilled meat, lamb chops or blue cheese over an informal meal.
Ready for drinking from 2019. Will be excellent after a few years' patient cellaring.
