Château Moulin de Mallet

AOC Bordeaux Red

Family-owned since 1898, the vineyard was gradually expanded and became the principal activity of the Couderc family in 1985. High up on the plateau de Pujols, a rocky outcrop overlooking the Dordogne Valley and facing the slopes of Saint Emilion, are the constructions of five successive generations. The entire estate has been modernised and the vineyard is run with passion and painstaking care by Mr Couderc senior, aided, since 1997, by his son Julien, a qualified viticulturist and oenologist.

    Vat-fermented and vat-aged, this densely garnet coloured wine displays a whole array of fresh, red and black fruit aromas (blackcurrant, blackberry and cherry). The same generosity is found on the palate, with supple, chewy extract over smooth, elegant, discreet tannins. Crafted from fully ripened grapes, this Vin de Bordeaux has drawn the full potential from this exceptional terroir overlooking the Dordogne opposite Saint-Emilion.

    A brilliant wine to behold, which deploys its delicate, lingering aromas of slightly spicy blackberry and blackcurrant from start to finish. These pervade a soft, rounded palate underpinned by quality tannins. A harmonious whole that concludes with a soft, balanced finish of jammy fruit notes. A globally harmonious, succulent wine which fully expresses the generosity of its terroir.
